Ion Selective
ISE or Ion Selective electrode sensors are designed for the measurement of specific ions dissolved in a solution. By using a specific ISE the user is able to determine the concentration of this Ion in mg/l. ISE sensors are electrochemical and relate the level of dissolved ion into an electrical potential.
Generally ISE are considered to be low cost and in some cases can provide a large amount of flexibility and sensor can be interchanged for different ISE electrodes if your measurement parameters change.
What ISE electrodes are available?
Commonly used ISE electrodes include - Nitrate, Chloride, Ammonium and ammonia. However there are many other options available depending on your application. These sensors are available for both permanent process monitoring applications and portable / environmental monitoring.
